#sunderlandhour are winners of the Sunfm Community Style Award 2014
We are winners of the Sunfm Community Style Award 2014
Friday saw the return of the SunFM Style Awards at the Roker Hotel in Sunderland and what a fantastic night it was. Â Everyone was suited and booted and looked fabulous.
The event was organised brilliantly by the events team with a fantastic 80’s retro theme. Â I must admit I was very nervous in the lead up to the night and the nerves well and truly kicked in once I arrived. Â I walked the red carpet in my new posh lace frock to be greeted by Danielle who looked lush in a lovely floral posh dress and lovely curls in her hair. Â Simon Grundy looked ever the gentleman in his Tux and bow tie. Â We walked to the entrance of the ballroom to be greeted by a sea of evening suits and fabulous evening dresses. Â Everyone looked the part.
The ballroom looked amazing, beautiful white chair covers, dressed tables with centre pieces of rubix cube and a 7 inch vinyl record. Â I wished all the finalists good luck and then the evening commenced.
Management and Representatives from SunFM were sat at each table and I had a cheeky dance with one who told me I had a pretty smile.
Terry Christian hosted the award ceremony along with Miss Sunderland and Sunderland Icons who presented winners with their awards.
It was amazing when Mickey Horsewell read out my name and said #sunderlandhour. Â The whole back of the room stood up and cheered as I collected the award. Â What a feeling! Â It was great to high five Harry Collinson whilst walking down the ballroom towards the stage. Â Unfortunately I couldn’t get on the stage as my legs were shaking that much 🙂 Â Just a shame Sue was flying back from Prague as it was happening.
Alexandra O’Neil ended the night on a high singing his best hits, which got everyone on the dance floor, letting their hair down and having a fantastic evening!
Sue and I are so proud to be winners of the Community Award and over the moon our work has been recognised. Â We would like to thank everyone for voting and for being a part of #sunderlandhour over this last year and a half.
I dare say there were a few headaches the next day.
